Geo van Dam, founder of effeqtgroup, booster Bijzondere Breinen
Geo helps organizations become smarter by discovering and harnessing the power of neurodiversity. He takes an integrated, systemic approach. So it's not about "fixing" individual employees but about making teams better by mapping and harnessing diversity in thinking. Collaborative thinking and free thinking are central to this. All his work starts with the question: How do you think?
Geo deals with topics such as: personal leadership, self-coaching, team strength, collaborative thinking and resilience from various roles: trainer, coach, consultant and catalyst.
Target groups: organizations that want to discover, explore and utilize neurodiversity. Geo works on harnessing neurodiversity and developing neurodiversity policies for large and small organizations, both in the Netherlands and worldwide, such as: Cap Gemini Engineering, Astra-Zeneca, Worley, Freshbooks, Municipality of Amsterdam, TopGarden Hoveniers and De Eijk Groep.
In 2003 Geo founded effeqtgroup out of dissatisfaction with the existing offer of training and coaching. He wanted to work much more from the power of people and teams and how to use self-coaching to teach people to develop themselves. Geo also works integrally on mental and physical aspects of learning and performance. He has written a book about the approach developed by himself over the years entitled: effeqt; personal leadership through self-coaching (link to website please).
Geo studied Exercise Science and Didactics. He gained extensive experience in scientific research and business before taking a post-graduate trainer course. Subsequently, he also completed training and education in the fields of systemic work and neurodiversity. He has been president of European Brains at Work since 2019.
Geo's interest in bijzondere breinen is based on personal experience. He describes his own behavior as "mild ADHD" and in his family he also has to deal with the advantages (and sometimes disadvantages) of having a special brain. For example, our educational system is not at all set up for thinking differently, and there is also a lot of room for improvement in this area in business and government.
